Problem

Thailand is rapidly becoming an ageing society, yet meaningful intergenerational interaction is increasingly limited. Many older adults experience loneliness and social isolation, and lack opportunities to share their stories, wisdom, and life experiences with younger generations. At the same time, younger people lack spaces for empathy-building, intergenerational understanding, and community connection.

Solution

Creating structured opportunities for meaningful interaction between younger people and older adults through companionship, conversation, shared activities, and community engagement. The project builds emotional connection, reduces social isolation among elderly participants, and fosters empathy and mutual learning across generations through pilot activities and volunteer participation.

Goals

  • Reduce loneliness and social isolation among both older adults and youth

  • Foster empathy, understanding, and mutual learning between generations

  • Encourage young people to engage meaningfully in social impact initiatives

  • Create spaces where both youth and elderly participants feel seen, heard, and valued

  • Develop a sustainable intergenerational support model that strengthens community relationships and emotional well-being

Highlights

  • Presented and discussed at the Thai Parliament with a focus on healthcare, ageing society challenges, and intergenerational well-being

  • Collaborating with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to explore potential as a sustainable, community and policy-driven initiative
